Ilham
Ilham was a student at Aminiyya School in the late 1980s, when Hassan Hameed was introducing computing in government schools. Aminiyya's students came to Majeediyya School for computer classes, which Hameed taught, and for Ilham's GCE O-Level computing project Hameed set him the task of making a Thaana font.
The letters came from Durūsul Akhlāq, a book by Muhammad Jameel printed by Novelty, written out by a Novelty calligrapher known as Dhonbe. Hameed later revised the font completely, issued it with Accent Express in the late 1990s, and released it as MV Ilham, with a bold weight, about twenty years after it first appeared. His father was a school friend of Hameed's, who suggested the name Ilham, ‘inspiration’, when he was born.
